Artist Statement
To Mari-Lyn, art is a form of expression and inspiration. It’s a place where she can share and express her feelings and perspectives.
Mari-Lyn’s style is to experiment with a variety of mediums. Her favorite is clay, as it has its own memory, it can be molded to have a new memory, much like us. Other mediums are acrylics, paints, fabric, wire, paper and intuitive imagination. Exploring the depth of what we sometimes aren’t willing to speak.
Her art represents the beauty that is in each one of us, that surrounds us. She uses “hearts” as her theme for her design work for special client gifts and for the home decorating market. She is even known to create “Funky Art” which seems to arouse the feelings that we don’t often want anyone to know about or be judged for.
It is Mari-Lyn’s hope is that her art transcends the mind into the realm of “heart to heart”.
